Crimson Tree

We put up our tree up this weekend! A funny story...Our ceilings are around 8 ft so we always pick a 6-7 ft tree...Well naturally I had to pick the biggest one on the lot and actually came home with a incorrectly tagged tree that was closer to 8-9 ft! Such a bargain hunter I am!

 It took 3 cuts off the bottom to finally get my angel on top!  Then when we first put her up she was covered by branches..Nothing twirling the tree around wont fix!  Such a pain just to get the tree set up this year I didn't attack it as I normally so impatiently do...

We added a TON of ornaments..All red, white and silver! There are a handful that have a hint of another color here and there that are important to me..But other then that its ALL red and white and silver! This year I ran out of white lights and decided to do red and white to avoid buying more. I am trying to be super frugal this holiday and just cant spend extra when I have a million bins of Christmas decor!

 Yes I have already wrapped pretty much everything!  I am done shopping as well just waiting for those last few packages to come in the mail to wrap!  I have to say I love sitting by the tree at night after the kids are in bed blasting a little Michael Buble Christmas CD and just enjoying the smells, the beauty and the feel of Christmas!

The Stockings have been hung...by the fantle with care! 

The only thing I purchased was this adorable little bird from a friends fundraiser! I tried to stick with only reds, whites and silvers and it came out adorable! 

I covered a pillow with the sequin cover from Hob LOB!  Comfy, Cozy pillow it is not..Beautiful and shiny yes it is :)  My ornaments all came from a Ornament wreath that failed last year..I figured what a great way to avoid trashing a huge amount of beautiful ornaments!

The other side of the fantle with some new to me items from last years Holiday clearance!  YES shop them every year it will be like Christmas when you open your 10 boxes of Christmas decor the next year!

The wall looks so full now which I love..However I feel like I need to do something better with the candles and hodge podge on either side of the ornament filled trough! 

The tree looks great day or night!  It completes the living room!  I think next year the shelves behind the tree will be gone so it will make the tree be the spot light!

So there is my living room all ready for Christmas! Ive been leaving the curtains open at night and when I arrive home it looks so beautiful and homey in there!

Our first EGG!

Seriously these ladies live the life!  They have a nice coop with more then enough space, places to roost at night, a nice decent sized run that allows them to come and go as they please! 

We were doing everything kinda half assed tho...We werent getting eggs..I was getting mad at each day my neighbor got more and more and we shared a box of baby chicks back in May!  So I started really watching the water, giving them the correct pellets(started them on laying feed later then I should have), and we hooked them up with a light for a few more hours at night..as you can see from Snowtober!

Well still NOTHING!  So my neighbor came over earlier this week and gave them a fresh egg and loaded them up with hay that her chickens use!  We were hoping something would get them going!  Well finally it did! 

Tonight Jeff came in and asked if my neighbor had brought over another egg...No I came running to see a pretty GREEN egg!  My 2 brown hens are the only ones that these can come from..SOOO exciting..However I am pretty mad Jeff got the first egg not me! They didnt lay where they should have either..But whatever!  Lets get this process going ladies!  Im hoping within the next week or two I start getting more and more eggs..I should avg 4 a day!

Sorry I havent been posting as much got a few emails people wondering why I have been so quiet!  Just super busy!  However Jeff and I did our usual Black Friday shopping this weekend..However this year we were able to do A LOT online!  I placed a order on Thanksgiving using a 15% off code and earned 15 in Kohls Cash!  I placed a order just now using code Cyber20 and earned another 15 in Kohls Cash to be used Tuesday!

Deck the Halls..

We do not have a grand staircase or anything spectacular but we use these stairs multiple times a day and its very refreshing to see this beautiful greenery as we hop down to school, pick ups etc

.I literally used a strand of lights, Michaels Pics from last year and 50% off this week, 2 strands of garland and a few strands of beads. I wish it was as beautiful as Censtatonal Girls stair case from a few years ago but I dont want to spend the money for free garlands and little jewels..
