Weekly Weigh in Week 25

What a week!  Trev was outta school and I was a lot lazier then normal...We didnt really go anywhere :)  I did a little cleaning, a few errands around town but nothing exciting.  However it gave me a taste of summer life and Im gonna have to get off my lazy butt this summer or I wont be losing!

I didn't get tons of exercise in this week!  Sunday I was supposed to run 5 miles and I had a very rough running day!  I also ran on Thursday as I was super sick on Wednesday so for a grand total thisweek of only 6.58!  I also did around 3 miles on the elliptical and arc trainer on Monday! The weather is due to be beautiful this weekend so I am hoping to get some nice long runs in!!

I did however get a pair of AE jeans in the mail and tried them on expecting them to be very muffin top tight and they weren't...A little snug but didnt give me major muffin top I was SHOCKED! They are AE jeans though and tend to run a little bigger I think.  So I grabbed a pair of capris at JCP in a size 12 thinking it would be a push to get into them..Nope slid RIGHT ON! So I think its safe to say I am pretty much a 10 now :)  I want to get to a 6-8 and I plan on stopping.

BAD not GOOD

Why do I always focus on the bad not the good?

Yesterday was probably my worst run yet!  I really did not want to do it at all.  Plus I was playing race the rain as I could tell the skies were gonna open at any given minute.

It started fine..I was supposed to hit 5 miles to end week 2 of my Nike+ training for the 10k! However within minutes I was tugging at my shirt..It kept riding up and lets face it no one wants to see that.  I must have pulled it back down at least 100 times in my run!

I just wasnt into it and ate steak and hard boiled eggs literally 10 minutes before I left along with half a bag of Easter Candy I am sure.  My stomach wasnt into the run as well.

Then I get this fantastic feeling of pulling in my left arch of my foot around 3.2 miles...  Finally around 3.42 miles I quit!  I just stopped and was walking back home and just was pissed at myself..Literally two steps away from throwing myself in the road and kicking and stomping all around!

I just wasnt okay with 3.42 miles when I should have hit 5 so I did another 1.03!  It was slow in timing for the run in general.  I tried to not let it ruin my day but all I focused on was my time, stopped etc.  Not that I did run 4.5 miles almost!

I am sure this will be the first of many just awful running days and I have to learn to handle them better.  I am glad I did listen to my body though when it doesn't want to go I don't want to force it and injure myself.

On a good note with all this extra training I am burning around 2200 calories in my running and gym time plus weights so I am able to eat a decent amount of calories and still LOSE!  WOO HOO hopefully the plateau is gone!

Happy Easter!!

It was a very low key Easter this year!  We went to a birthday party/egg hunt of my family Saturday night, dyed eggs and visited with the Easter Bunny(Casey HATED him) on Saturday afternoon.  We spent Easter Sunday just lounging around, eating a lot of candy and playing outside.  I didn't even get the kids dressed up!!
Trev saw something he liked

nail polish and lipgloss what I always wanted :)

it broke open full of candy Casey was impressed

while Trevor and aubrey looked for the eggs

Casey raided their baskets

he was so excited

she got one!!

trev loves easter

Seriously how cute?!

Caseys first year doing eggs

Trev has it down to a Science

Aubrey had to make a mess as usual

Casey smashing the egg

writing her name

Trev was writing a letter to the Easter Bunny

They made a Peanut Butter Easter Basket for Daddy

The Easter Bunny came!!

It was really hard this year getting into the spirit with all of Caseys issues..Not to mention making a basket without egg, soy or milk based products was rough.  Not to mention telling the other two to hide their chocolate we all just feel awful for Casey.  Not that he will ever now but we feel awful eating and enjoying these things that he cannot!  I just wasnt into it this year for the first time since Trev was a baby I have no pictures of the eggs we dyed.  I feel awful but I am just not into anything lately!!

Earth Day Recycling!

Trev had a Earth Day project we knew about for at least a month and just could not get any great ideas!

We thought of a herb garden from a Egg Carton..make our own compost, put the herbs in and wah lah!  That just didnt seem to scream Kindergarten to me though!!

We thought of a truck...but his friend made one!

Finally we just started painting, cutting and gluing one day when Aubrey and Casey were napping and we came up with...

wait for it....

a rocket?

Nope just an airplane!  A giant water jug, some toilet paper wheels, wings of cardboard box, lights from buttons we painted,  and paint I had laying around the house!

He thought it was cool and I think he just had a lot of fun having some one on one time with Mommy which is very rare these days!! He also told me his teacher told him he was very creative and did a great job.  He was happy with his first big project for school.

Weekly Weigh in Week 24

This was a HUGE week for me! I finally surpassed my weight loss between Casey and Aubrey's pregnancies!  I passed it by over a pound!  Gotta love that!!

I kicked up my water big time this week and really all around ate VERY well! I am in love with Al Fresco Chicken Sausage!  I will have two links and a cup of broccoli or Cauliflower for dinner and get so full.  I love it plus its less then 350 calories for all of that and I feel "bad"!

I also exercised A LOT this week!  I ran 5 miles Sunday, 4 on Wednesday, 4 on Friday!  Plus I covered around 2.5-3 miles on the elliptical on Monday and did level 2 of the 30 day shred Tuesday!  I swear running is the key to my loss!  Anytime I up my training on a regular basis I lose big numbers.  I am very proud of this week!  I have a little over 5 weeks till my birthday and would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be 10 pounds thinner by then!  Im gonna really push hard and try!

Playroom storage

It all began here...
A few days ago Trev had some friends over and I went down to the playroom and it was destroyed!  Like you cannot even see the floor destroyed.  I asked him why he did that he said he couldnt find what he was looking for, stuff was broken etc!

So I got to work and got rid(goodwill) of 4 bags of toys they no longer play with, have outgrown or were never really interested in!  I also threw away about half a bag of trash!!

I began to look around for better storage for the toys...

We could build something from Ana-White's site!!

Drool over the pottery barn catalog!

Or just run out to Target my BFF and spend 115 dollars after my Target card 5% discount and a 5.00 gift card for a storage system, 4 baskets, and 2 Tupperware style bins!!

I didn't really want to spend 115 dollars but when I think about it for the 2 units, the bins and the Tupperware its a pretty sweet deal!  Not to mention I put both units together in less then a hour with very easy directions!  I was pretty impressed how quick it all came together and how sturdy it is!

Potato Heads fit perfectly in the bins!

Two of the 4 baskets are EMPTY!  Yes we still have room, which is fantastic!! I love that about a big spring cleaning spree.

I added little tags(googled a image and then just laminated, hole punched and tied it on with ribbon)
Ive been wanting to spruce up the playroom for a while!  Ive been picking up things here and there!!
Giant Clips (Michaels 1.00 each)
Ribbon 5 pk (Target 75% off dollar spot)
Frame we had FREE
Art work in frame googled FREE art work and it fits perfect in the room!!

How cute are my babies?!  They were all taken around 6-9 months in those pics :)

I have A LOT more work to do in the playroom..This is just a start but this is more of a nap time project that will take at least a month!!

Eagan wanna be

I saw the Eagan Mirror at Pottery Barn and loved it but did not like the price!  Seriously 699 dollars!!

I showed it to Jeff and we put it on our to do list!  Then I saw TLC do a version which I LOVE!

I really just LOVE theirs!  But I could not find mirrors that size that were cheap enough for me!

Walmart had 12x12 version 6 pack for 10.00!! The molding and backer board was around 25 and a couple cans of spray paint were 12!

Its not perfect Im not toally in love but it does fill the space in the hallway!  This stair way to the basement is very dark and just not welcoming at all.  This mirror really feels like it opened things up a little!

I want to mimic the gallery wall on the other side of the stairs! I think it will complete the look!

ana white

I also plan on making some sort of jacket, gloves purse station at the bottom of the stairs!  It has to be narrow and efficent in space as we walk past those stairs a million times a day!   Maybe something similar to the Ana White Entryway bench!

Its impossible to get a great pic of the mirror and it would look a lot better hanging horizontally but we forgot to measure out the area we wanted it to hang before assembling :)

The man that made it all happen!

Seriously LOVE my husband for this one..He sat down and measured a million times and made sure it was perfect cause he knew that if it was a little off it would really show!

Well it all started back in MARCH!  Yes I am a major slacker!  I jokingly posted in March here the start of my project!

Longest distance yet!

Yesterday as part of my training for the 10k I needed to run 5 miles!  Before yesterday the longest I had ever run straight was around 3.43! I just never really pushed myself.  But after running 5k's here and the official race the past month I knew it was possible if I just got into the zone!  Running is 99% mental for me!

So I mapped out a route since I know my Nike+GPS app isn't all that accurate....

I even wrote it on my hand cause Im classy like that!
After explaining to the kids for 10 mins why I wrote on my hand and why they cannot I was off!  I knew it was gonna take me around a hour cause I typically slow down the last mile or so with all the hills, off road running and traffic around my area.

As I kept running I missed the street..I never wrote down a KEY turn so I ended up changing the route a little trying to do it backwards!  Yea that didn't work.  I actually felt okay!  I was amazed I was keeping between a 10:30-12:00 pace!

RED!!

I finally got home!  I made it I did 5 miles according to the app but I knew it was a lot more I could tell by how my body felt and the readings the app was giving me!  I was hot!  I was sweaty!  I was PROUD!  I checked my route and ended up going 5.47 miles in 1 hour 4 mins and 4 seconds(hows that for OCD lol)

This week I have two 4 mile runs and another 5 miler on Sunday! I am glad I am pushing for the 10k as it is gonna help me get past my weight loss plateau!  When I was training for the 5k and running longer distances on a regular basis the weight was falling off!
