A Halloween Tree

I decorated the house the past few days for Halloween!  After all tomorrow is October 1st(and my sweet Caseys first birthday)....

I went to Michaels and got some ornaments 40% off plus if you sign up for email you get 20% off your order!!  I had the urn, leaves and spray paint already :)

I just clipped leaves from our Rose of Sharon tree and painted them...I LOVE the green popping through!

I added some balls..

Added some skulls and black bulbs to cover the unfinished bottom

Moved it around a few times..(Dont mind the patching work)

I really love it and it was so easy and will be fun to add to each year :)

The Nester..aka (one of the most down to earth bloggers with an amazing home) is having a party today to show off your mantle!  I do not have a mantle but I do have this mirror that Jeff made for me :)  We just put this up over the summer so I am having a blast decorating it for the seasons!!

A beautiful wreath, some pumpkins, gourds,  candle sticks, etc and WAH LAH...Oh yea and a can of metallic spray paint!  Jeff jokes he will be my next victim that I attack with that lovely metallic paint!

All items were old or purchased very cheap from the Dollar Store, Target or Christmas Tree Shop and I just used that good trusty can of spray paint to make everything match :)

My first cloche!  Isnt it cute,..filled with some acorns and beady stuff!

A new side table...

We have mis-matched tables in our bedroom and it has driven me crazy since I started really caring/decorating the house!

So I had enough and went to Home Depot ALONE today and got all supplies needed to kinda match the old table in our room now...

I bought:
2x2 board 6.23
2 4ft pieces of moulding 3.96
4 cedar ballisters 3.96
1 pine board 4.11
18.26 for a new table that matches!!

cut our board and added the legs on

Then cut the support to fit snuggly between the legs

add a lot of glue and nails for support

then add the moulding to give it a decorative touch

We wood filled the nail holes and some of the areas the wood had a gap just so it looks as one uniform piece...

Do I paint it glossy white?  Do I paint it brown like the contrasting wall in our room?  Decisions Decisions...

 Also make sure you have the worlds cutest project manager over looking the project :)

easy peasy

I do not dare say my life is easy!  Its actually extremely difficult right now...getting up and out the door at 8 a.m.(I normally need to sleep TILL at least 8 a.m.), then picking Trev up before lunch allows for a little shopping in between aka NOTHING getting done in the house.  Then we have lunch, kids nap, I veg...aka NOTHING getting done in the house!  I had to spend quite some time today cleaning and getting the house back in order....BUT on the positive side...We have been having a lot of good days!  '


Trev is occupied with school and feels that hes the big shot so he picks on Aubrey less(when he is bored my life is pure hell)

Aubrey is screaming less, helping more...and actually a little sweet.  She is cleaning up after herself, asking not doing as she pleases etc

Casey is standing and started crusing today WUT WOH!

With Trev in school the house has been neglected but Aubrey is getting her one on one with momma and turning back to the sweet girl I once had!  Trev is so interested in learning, spelling, writing and perfecting these arts....Casey is just growing up and quick and into EVERYTHING!

LIFE IS GOOD!

I used my Gap groupon the other day :)  I paid 25.00 for the groupon which gave me 50 to spend at Gap!!  I ended up paying 4.52 oop at Gap...So totall oop was 29.52 and the orignal price was 123.50!!

Just a note of caution!

I posted my halloween display downstairs recently and recieved a few emails one being from my own mother stating I shouldnt be lighting candles with tulle etc..Well DUH! When in doubt I use these babies...

You can get them multi changing or just white...They are LED and I have been paying 2.50 for 6 of them at Target, Christmas Tree Shops etc.  They are AWESOME for decorating, little kids etc.  They are in my mummies as well :)
