We are those parents..

I swear, I drink(when I'm not prego or breastfeeding), I have days when I don't particularly like my children...I'm real! I cannot say I sit and play with my kids day in and day out! I am a mother just maybe not the PERFECT mother! I would like my house to look nice rather then a kids playyard. That is JUST me!

Yesterday we were looking in the van and I was sitting in the driver seat and Max(our dog) kept trying to get it so I yelled at him to go away and said that freakin dog....

In the way back of the van Aubrey was playing in no sooner did I say that she repeated "Ugh THAT FREAKING DOG MOMMY"

Then Jeff and I started laughing and Trev said "She said FUCKING did you hear that?"

So then we start laughing but trying not to let them see. We told Trev he does not say fuck and I took away his dollar that he just made working.

I HAVE to watch my mouth around these kids.


Then this morning Casey woke up early and fell back asleep right when Aubrey woke up. Trev was still sleeping so for about a HOUR Aubrey had me ALL to herself. We cleaned the bathroom including the drawers throwing stuff out...She found lipstick and said WHATS THIS?! I told her to put it down....BUT WHAT DOES IT DO? COLOR ON THE WALLS? So I am sure I will have a lipstick covered wall or horse(her horse got a tube of chapstick the other day)!

She also made breakfast with me and had to get her OWN yogurt out of the fridge a later(refridgerator)

She is a VERY sweet girl if you get her to yourself. However if she is around other kids she is so evil....My mom said it best today when she saw this pic of Aubrey..

" I know you think she is a monster . which she is .. but she's always good a laugh too. She makes me laugh so much."

Water...Water

I weighed myself Friday to no change...I went and bought a food scale because some items I just didn't know how much they were and I guessed...Well my guess was WAY off! So hopefully this week is back to losing. I looked at the forecast and I should be able to walk Thursday-Saturday which I am okay with...I will take the kids for a short walk during the day and then again when Jeff gets home from work by myself :)

I do know my water intake has been a lot lower then it should be! So I need to start tracking that a little better. I enjoy eating dinner with my family and not making a SPECIAL meal for myself...I do sneak in more veggies and add low fat/fat free when I can..

Its little changes that will make a big difference!

I went to Target for 3 things.....Solar lights that are 3.00 when using the 2/1 coupon 1.00 for a solar light! Do these things give off tons of light? NO Do they make it look nice at night? YES

I also went for the dollar spot towels that are 2.50 use the 2/1 beach towel coupon from Target and pay .50 for a beach towel! Are these high quality? NO Will they work for the pool? YES we use TONS of towels in the summer and these will be perfect for the kids or guests that forget towels!

Thrifty Thursday with Melissa

Melissa is having another thrifty thursday party! This week she spoke about DAVE RAMSEY! I love DAVE! He really has his stuff together! This week I will talk about how we save money with our babies!

We have had 3 kids in 5 years! Yes that is A LOT of babies!

I have fully breastfed 2 of the 3! Which saves at 50+ a month when factoring formula, bottles, nipples etc! That is a savings of 600 a year!

I also do use disposable diapers which normally cost around 10 dollars a pack on average we go through a pack a week! However since learning about couponing I never even look at diapers unless they are on sale for 8.99 or less and I can use store AND manu coupons! On average I spend about 5.99 for a pack of NAME BRAND diapers! That is a savings of 156 or more a year!

SECOND HAND! I do not go to thrift stores but I accept ALL hand me downs from friends and family as well as SAVE my older boys clothes for my younger boys clothes! On average I can cloth our family for about 500 for the year! 100 a person is a really good price in my opinion by just shopping sales, using coupons, buying ahead of time at end of season sales!

Just a day in the life...

Last night we all ran to the car from the mall....I got into the car and said its frickin cold out it was SEVENTY last week....We are driving down the road and little parrott Aubrey said....Mommy its fuck!ng cold outside...I had to ignore because they say do not acknowledge it. So note to self watch our mouth a little closer becuase apparently she is listening :)

Today Trev and Aubrey dressed each other up in fairy wings, hair bows(that were bracelets), and a wand. Trev did Aubrey's hair...Trev dressed up in the fairy costume too! When the mean mommy in me made him take it off he told me BOYS ARE FAIRIES TOO! I told him no they are not go play with trucks lol

We went and saw the Easter Bunny last night Aubrey refused to sit with him as she did with Santa...So looking back over the years I will always have just 2 kids in photos I guess :)

CoCo Keys Water Resort

We spent St. Pattys Day at the Coco Keys in Danvers, MA! We decided to go and stay overnight at the hotel as it is a good drive from our home. The hotel staff were awesome, we were checked in quickly, brought us up extras as we needed them.

As soon as we got there we headed down to the water park.....They loaded up our wrist bands of which you can attach a debit card, attach it to your room, etc so you do not have to carry around cash or debit cards. You can go to the park as early as 4 the day you arrive and stay as late as 3 the day you leave! **Make sure you check the calender most weekdays they are only open from 4-9!! We wanted to make sure we chose days that they would be open all day both days to maximize our stay!

At night it was darker in the park but pretty warm. The kids walked in and were a little overwhelmed until we found a seat and let them get wet! We decided to get seats near the theater....Its a small walk in pool that was no deeper then my knees. They play movies...while we were there Shrek, Happy Feet, Shrek 2 were what played. There are 3 small slides, tons of water falling or spraying up from the ground. PERFECT for the younger ones in the family!

There is also a BIG pool with lily pads and basketball nets. We went in this pool with the kids first thing in the morning as it fills up quick and then you just kinda sit there in the water!

There is also a lazy river that was closed the day we were there but looked like loads of fun, as well as the jacuzzi that you have to be at least 16 to be in therefore with all our kids we didnt make it in there :)

The best part of the park in Trevs opinon was the middle HUGE Playground type area! You can walk up and find all kinds of water features or features you see in a regular park. There are some smaller slides as well as the 2 LARGE slides that my 5 year old flew down without a fear. He would have spent all day there if we let him. The reason that we did not let him was this.... The big bucket fills up and then spills out dumping TONS of water which scared Aubrey to death! Trev on the other hand LOVED it :)

I really really really enjoyed this park. It was clean, full of help, the lifeguards kept all the kids in check. It was just smile after smile! Plus we got to play in the arcade

, stay at a hotel, have donuts for breakfast,, etc. Dont bring towels if your a guest of the hotel they give them to you for free! I do have to admit staying with a teething 5 month old was a little tough but it worked for us as Aubrey stayed in the smaller pool...However I didnt really get a chance to do much with Trev which was hard on me but I dont think he even noticed :)

THe downsides...It was a little cold during the day if you were in the water and got out...It seemed as if the heat was off and on..The hotel was very clean but we found a few things that made it seem as if the maids weren't totally on top of their game. It is on Route 1 I went to Stop and Shop across the street from the hotel and it took me 5 mins to get there as I had to get onto the other side of route 1.

All in all we are planning to go again as it seemed very affordable for a small little getaway and the kids are STILL talking about it.

Weight Loss

I've been doing better...Walking A LOT! I go for two walks a day weather permitting....I walk once with the kids in the stroller and once without them normally with the dog...I have been eating well...The trick is lots of water, BIG breakfast, small lunch, and portion controlled dinner! I am still battling hungry feelings, bored and wanting to snack feelings. I try and have one meal a week that is something I LOVE, that is bad for you and that tastes good!! I plan on weighing in on Fridays I dont want to become a slave to the scale! How are you doing on your weight loss goals? Have you gained or lost this week?

Meal Plan monday

Today is Monday...meaning Daddy is back at work and we are all recovering from the busy weekend...

I have a challenge over the next two weeks! I organized my storage rooms and realized JUST how much food I have :) Over the next 3 weeks I do not want to buy anything but fresh produce, milk, eggs. THAT IS IT! I will have to get creative and not be lazy!

Monday: Spaghetti with meat sauce
I use Ground Beef, Thick and Zesty season packet, minced garlic, pureed onion, pureed pepper, Ragu or Prego Sauce....Boil some Spaghetti and DONE in 30 mins or less plus there are tons of veggies in there my kids do not know about :)

Tuesday: Zesty Chicken Bake
This is basically chicken breasts covered in fat free zesty dressing, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, onions, Potatoes, carrots, etc....Basically throw anything in there...I serve with Corn as well so there are plenty of veggies! Bake at 350 for 30 mins or less depending how big your chicken breasts are

Wednesday: Freezer Meal(I have tons of meals frozen in my downstairs freezer...I try and make 2 big meals if I can freeze it to save me time down the road)

Thursday: Chicken and Dumplings(didnt make it last week)
Throw cream and chicken soup, chicken broth, chicken with salt and pepper in the crock pot for about 6-8 hours on low...The last 2 hours I throw in crescent rolls, or biscuit dough in small balls as well as celery, carrots, etc. The last two hours you will need to stir it around every 20 mins or so!

Friday: Enchiladas with Mexican Rice
Cook Chicken and enchilada sauce in the slow cooker for several hours, then shred and throw in tortillas along with a small dollop of sour cream, black beans, green chilis(from the can)...Throw them in a casserole dish along with some more enchilada sauce and bake for 30 mins on a low setting serve with rice!

Saturday: Breakfast for dinner....Waffles or Texas Toast, Eggs, Sausage, and fruit!

Sunday: Sausage with Peppers and Onions served over brown rice

Yes I know my recipes arent fantastic but it gives you a basic idea!

I am hoping I can lose 17 pounds by my birthday that is in 10 weeks! I've taken the past few weeks to get myself together basically not set myself up for failure...I started by taking walks here and there...Now I am back to walking DAILY! I also cut soda from my diet, cut the grazing,stopped eating after 7, more water, daily tracking on sparkpeople, putting healthier foods in the house....It wasn't easy nd took a few weeks but I am FULLY on board :) I plan to weigh in officially on my ticker....will update with progress along the way!! Meal Planning...

Do you meal plan? It saved my family TONS of money! I made a cute little Chalkboard and write out my meal plan so the family can get all excited(complain) about whats for dinner ahead of time :) It also helps getting to the grocery store ONE time a week therefore saving money on the little extras that tend to pop into the grocery cart!

What makes my meal plan work? I have a large stockpile and just try and make meals from it! I also try to not cook just chicken, just beef etc because everyone gets sick of eating the same meat every night! I do cook with meat pretty much every meal...A way to save money is to NOT cook with it every meal :)

Well the time came...I kinda figured as my arms were often being sucked on and I was covered in drool! Casey like the other two has his two bottom teeth popping though!! The other two got their teeth at 9 and 10 months so he is a little early! Just hoping he doesn't bite me or nursing will be OVER for him!

He is also napping in his crib!!! This took some time but we did it! We are working on bedtime now which is a fight and he only stays in there for a few hours but I will get what I can take!

He is now taking a bowl of cereal a day as well! We started putting some fruits and veggies in it and he is doing so well! I am very happy with the little progress he is making!

He is such a sweet baby, so happy and carefree! I took a great pic of him the other day interacting with his toys...What do you think?

Well not MY casey but a baby Casey is up in heaven watching over his mom, dad and big sister!

Out with the old

We needed a new DVD shelf...Ours was way to small for the dvd player, didn't match the bed set(which I hate ocd I know) and I just wanted a new one. We looked and looked and unless we wanted to spend 40+ we had to build this shelf ourselves...I say we loosely as Jeff built it but hes not around so I will take the credit :)

I could not get down there to take pics while Jeff was doing it....Also I think he would break my camera...he thinks its weird anyone would like to see our projects or hear my babble on and on! But I will do my best to explain!

We bought:
a piece of pine 1 in thick to our dimensions we needed $less then 5 dollars
a piece of flat moulding 1 inch thick $less then a dollar
a 2 pack of corbells $7.00

We used what we had:
saw, miter saw, nail gun, stain..

You cut your piece of pine(I would have Home Depot do it) to the dimensions you need. Then take your miter saw(if you dont have one Home Depot sells boxes to help miter cut) and make the trim for your edges that you will see!

Then we took our corbels and had to use them upside down basically the part that should be on the wall is what is on the bottom of the shelf

Then we filled the holes with wood filler and treated and stained it! We have to put a coat of Poly on it and then its ALL SET! Does it look PERFECT no....But its good enough for me. Plus we made it which is even better!!

29 days left...

I think I finally got the urge! I have been not eating after 7 the past few days, thinking about what I eat before I eat, having good portions, I went and did yard work and walked today.

I am WAYYYYY outta shape! I took the dog, the two younger kids in the stroller and Trev walked with me. Anyday its around around 50 degrees I want to walk with them. It will get them needed fresh air as well.

Lets see how much I can lose over the month of march! Bargain Becky has lost 12 pounds, my BFF Tina lost almost 20 since the beginning of the year, Melissa posts some good weight watchers meal plan ideas! I have the foundations lets run with it! Once I start seeing loss I will be locked in!
